If leading paint brands likeBenjamin Moore,Behr, andLittle Greenehave their way, 2026 interiors will be steeped in rich shades of blue-green, maroon, and espresso. IKEA, however, charts a distinct course. For thesecond year in a row, the Swedish retailer has issued its owncolor prediction, and for the coming year it introduces a hue designed to uplift and enliven: Rebel Pink.

“We wanted to bring something that felt like a joyful rebellion for your home, because I think people need that right now,” shares Abbey Stark, IKEA’s home furnishing design leader. Like many brands that engage in trend forecasting, Stark and the IKEA team analyzed fashion, culture, and design disciplines when making their selection. Their unique differentiator: they also looked to the company’s upcoming catalog for authentic integration.

IKEA has launched a furry pink kids’ chair as part of its new 33-pieceGREJSIMOJS collection. Also in development, according to Stark, is a bold floral sofa cover that mixes the playful shade with a brown-ish mustard tone, along with Rebel Pink bedding, pillow covers, and outdoor lighting. “There’s this nostalgic, vintage feeling coming into homes. We’re going back into the ’80s,” she says. On January 1, IKEA will release a collaboration with colorist Tekla Evelina Severin that applies Rebel Pink tochic speaker lamps. “It’s a really good pairing pink,” notes Stark, “it works well with reds and burnt orange; I am loving it with pistachio and deep mahogany.”

As the design world awaits IKEA’s full Rebel Pink lineup, the brand’s existing pink-toned pieces are well worth exploring—including one of Stark’s personal favorites: the recently releasedStrala lamp by Gustaf Westman.
