Cookbook author and creative Dan Pelosi is recognized for his comforting recipes, low-stress approach to entertaining, and passion for maximalist design. His collaboration with washable rug brand Ruggable on a line of playful, pattern-heavy styles feels like a natural extension of his aesthetic—one look at Pelosi’s color-drenched Hudson Valley home confirms the connection.
“No one loves to make a mess in the kitchen more than me!” Pelosi says, adding that the floor covering category felt like a natural extension of his style. “I have a strong perspective on color, and I knew Ruggable would help translate that to a collection that feels very authentic to my vision.”

The first Ruggable & Friends capsule features 18 whimsical rugs and doormats starting at $89. The designs draw on Pelosi’s brand’s culinary iconography and catchphrases, as well as the floral motifs and geometric quilted patterns found throughout his home—a confetti-inspired check, bright red tomatoes, and rows of tulips. The home’s downstairs palette influenced the second story, which has been refreshed with paint colors including Farrow & Ball’s Rangwali and Cook’s Blue, and Benjamin Moore’s August Morning. These hues are carried through in the new rug designs.

“Paint colors were big for me,” he says. “I love the colors in my home, and I get asked for specs daily in my DMs. I knew that if I included some of them in the rugs, they would not only work in my home, but would be an easy way for others to have a little piece of my home in theirs.”

Observant shoppers will notice bright blue as an accent in the This House is a Home rug and Grossy Confetti Check runner, which feels like a scattering of sprinkles across the floor. In the Nonna’s Checkerboard and Tulip Heaven designs, a cheerful, elevated pink echoes the upstairs bathroom walls. And then there’s the Rugatoni: it arranges penne, ravioli, and macaroni pasta shapes in a grid over jute—but just when you think you’ve identified the pattern, Pelosi introduces a single bowtie. “I joke that any sauce spilled on it would simply sauce the pasta,” he laughs. It’s a persuasive case for unfurling one in your kitchen.
